In Faneuil Hall Market Place. It is a tourist trap, but fun to visit. Check it out here.
Linsey waiting to board the Green Line on the T.
We stopped walking around for a little while to eat some chicken wings, chips and chili and watch the end of the Colts v. Chargers. Linsey drank vodka and sprite with a splash of cranberry juice and I drank 23 ounce Coors Lights. I wanted a pitcher, but our waitress said: "We don't serve pitchers to just one person, you sick drunk."
This is the board that shows the times and track numbers for trains heading to points north of Boston. Ours headed back to Newburyport at 6:30 p.m. It was delayed slightly, by about 5 minutes.
We got into Boston at about noon. We took the T to Back Bay to shop on Newbury and Boylston street. I bought a much needed pair of shoes from Steve Madden. They were on sale for $39, down from more than $100. I also bought a book, called Sacred Games, by Vikram Chandra -- using the remaining money on a gift card from the Wueppers. You can look at it here.
Linsey bought two tops from J. Crew, both which were on sale. One she bought for $20, on sale from $88, and the other one for $39, down from $80. She also bought makeup -- lip gloss and powder -- from Sephora.
Sometime between buying things, we stopped at a hip little restaurant called Sonsie, on Newbury Street, for brunch. It was quite good. You can check it out here.
Linsey ordered a turkey sloppy joe with homemade potato chips. I got the turkey and pastrami hash with sauteed onions and peppers and poached eggs. Lots of the beautiful, rich and seemingly quick-to-judge yuppies and hipsters who partied Saturday night were there eating breakfast and sipping bloody Mary's.
Most of the women wore large, face-covering sun glasses throughout breakfast, even though it wasn't too sunny and we were indoors. We thought that was strange.
We also took a walk through the Boston Common, where we were going to check out the ice skaters and maybe go ice skating ourselves. But we were sidetracked by my need to use the restroom, one of which we finally located in the bowels of a nearby Macy's department store.
For the train-ride home I bought a New York Post and Linsey continued to read The Fountainhead. We got home at about 8 p.m.
It was a fun day.
